Quantum Field Theory in Curved Spacetimes

Our main goal is to obtain a deeper understanding of general relativity and quantum mechanics. Ultimately, this drives us to quantum field theory in curved spacetimes also denominated semiclassical gravity, where matter and interaction fields are quantized in a curved spacetime ruled by general relativity. In this vein, our interests include the Unruh and Hawking effects, vacuum fluctuation around compact stars, application of quantum field theory and quantum information in the cosmic censorship conjecture and black hole physics, analog models in condensed matter, and quantum effects in cosmology.
