Every year, in January or February, I organize a summer school in mathematical-biology. This is a fully interdisciplinary initiative, with students coming from physics/math working together with students in biology/ecology/epidemiology. The first week is a "hands on" course in modeling, with students working most of the time in groups, on open-ended topics. The second week is a more traditional school, with three invited lecturers. The official language of the school is English. Usually, we have around 50 students, with approximately 20 coming from countries other than Brazil. Since 2012 we have been supported by the ICTP-South American Institute for Fundamental Research and name of the school is "Southern-Summer School in Mathematical Biology”.
You can find information on the school and how to apply visiting regularly the ICTP-SAIFR page.
